Joseph Koensgen Art is committed to protecting your privacy when you use our on-line services (“Services”) or purchase our products (“Products”).  In this policy we explain how and why we collect your information, what we do with it and what controls you have over our use of it. From time to time, we add or change functions, features or products to our Web site or add or change Services.  This, and our commitment to protecting the privacy of your personal information, may result in periodic changes to this Privacy Policy.  As a result, please remember to refer back to this Privacy Policy regularly to review any amendments.

What data do we collect and how do we use it?

Throughout this policy, we use the term “personal information” to describe information that can be associated with a specific person and can be used to identify that person. We do not consider personal information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not identify a specific user.

Joseph Koensgen Art collects and processes information about you in order to:
(i) identify you each time you visit our Web site or wish to have a Service provided or purchase our Products;
(ii) process orders or applications submitted by you;
(iii) improve our Services and Web  site;

Log files/IP addresses

When you visit our Web site, your IP address is automatically logged (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognized by our web server.  IP addresses are used to help us administer our Web site and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use.  We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information.

Non Personal Information

We may automatically collect non-personal information about you such as the type of internet browsers you use or the site from which you linked to our Web site.  You cannot be identified from this information and it is only used to assist us in providing an effective service on our Web site. We may from time to time supply the owners or operators of third party sites from which it is possible to link to our Web site with information relating to the number of users linking to our Web site from their sites. You cannot be identified from this information.

Use of Cookies

When you access our Web site, we, or companies we hire to track how our Web site is used, may place small data files called “cookies” on your computer. Joseph Koensgen Art will not share, sell or rent your personal information to third parties.  However, we may disclose your personal information to third party suppliers who may provide services on our behalf. At this time we do not have any third party suppliers who provide services on our behalf.

Joseph Koensgen Art may disclose aggregate statistics about our sales, our Web site visitors and customers of our telephone services in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will not include personally identifying information.

Payment for Products and Services through Companies other than, and separate from, Joseph Koensgen Art

Payment for Joseph Koensgen Art Products and Services may be handled by a third party company that specializes in payment processing. When a third party company is used for such purposes Joseph Koensgen Art makes every effort to ensure that that company is well established, reputable and offers a secure and safe handling of information they may collect from you in order to process your payment for the Products or Services that you have ordered from Joseph Koensgen Art. However, we suggest that you read their privacy policies and security information prior to completing any transaction through them. Joseph Koensgen Art is not responsible for the security measures and privacy policies of any other company even if it is contracted to provide a service on behalf of Joseph Koensgen Art such as payment processing. If you are not comfortable in using a third party company for processing your payment for Joseph Koensgen Art Products or Services then contact art@josephkoensgen.com at Joseph Koensgen Art to make alternate payment arrangements.

It is very important to us that we provide you with the highest level of service.  In order to help us do this, from time to time Joseph Koensgen Art may send you details of our Products and Services which we think may be of interest to you.  If at any time you do not wish to receive these details, please e-mail us aart@josephkoensgen.com.

Security

Joseph Koensgen Art places a great importance on the security of all information associated with our customers. We have security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of customer data under our control. While we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur, we use our best efforts to prevent this.  For example, our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized personnel have access to user information. With regard to our Web site, if we collect financial information from you we use secure server software (SSL) to encrypt it before you send it to us. Or, if we have a third party company handling payments on our behalf our selection of such a company is based, in part, on its stated secure handling of personal information.

Where is the information stored?

Information which you submit via our Web site or our telephone services is stored on our computer or in our office located in Canada and we protect it by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable law. In addition information you submit via our Web site may be stored in data files that are lodged with our Web site host which is located in the U.S.  We use computer safeguards such as fire walls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and we authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.
